my weight loss journey

I have been on a battle to lose weight after giving birth to my daughter two years ago.  Over a year, I got stuck on a weight that I thought I couldn’t lose.  Just about the last quarter of 2009, I decided to focus.  I asked my hubby to buy a treadmill for me to use at home.  I started on here and there diet.  But I focused myself on the exercise habit.  I have been running on the treadmill for 2miles each day.  I even used the sauna suit because I don’t sweat a lot like most people do.  During the first few weeks, I only eat banana for breakfast, fruits, protein drinks and a one good meal to last me through the next day.  The progress was slow, yet I was hopeful that one day I will get to the target weight. I continued with my routine until around December that I noticed a dramatic change in my body.  I feel healthy and sexy once again.  I can’t be more proud of myself.  I have reached my goal weight and have maintained it so far up to this very day.  The only thing that changed with my routine is that I get to eat what I want now, and still continue with my exercise routine twice or three times a week. Last words, don’t give up.  If others can, why can’t you?

don't be too hard on yourself

When I saw this post available to me, I grab it right away.  I think this is the perfect time to write something about debt and what not.  With the current economic situation, recession and the like, people are more likely to get more and more into debt.  And the question is, are they able to clear out the debt?  Are they able to pay the minimum and increasing finance charges?

I know a lot of people who are into debt.  As much as they want to pay it, it is just hard to pay and continue with the day -to day expenses. My brother almost decided to go for debt consolidationand one of my friends from Chicago has also settled for the same.

 My husband and I have been discussing on how to pay off our debts.  But every time we have set our plans, things changed. I got pissed by one of my credit card company’s who offered no payment, no interest until the following year.  And to my surprised they charged accumulated interest the next year.  As much as we want to pay off, these credit card companies will keep us down then next thing you know.  With the coming tax refund, my husband and I have decided to pay off our debt with the highest finance charge.  I am more than willing to sacrifice my budget yet not being too hard on myself.  


Let me know what are your strategies to stay out of debt.  Let us help one another.

little debbie also known as mai-mai

some days...i wish I could go back and being 6 or 7 again...no worries except what to play...that little shy girl is still me....and my baby sister beside me. we are same little person...with usually the same dreams but different interests....I still like all the same stuff...dressing up, shoes, makeup, modeling, dancing and twirling....My sister is my opposite.  She likes balls, bicycle, running around, and  jeans.  She hates wearing sunday dress and would rather make excuses so she can't come to church with us.
and then
some days
...and I had one yesterday...I was all ready to bed, and then hubby and my daughter came in bed with me, and something happened...*TEARS* something happened, that i cannot share here, it was something that me and my hubby have been trying to work out in our relationship. It looks like neither of us can compromise nor change.  Oh well, maybe there are some things we cannot change.

I was hit with some "less-than-lovely" words.

then I realized...everything is all how you look at it....and I said, "you know, this isn't so bad....I've been through a whole lot worse"...this is all do-able....I can handle all of this....
I opted to keep my silence after an argument that is going nowhere.


If today seems hard or sad....know you're not alone...
The sun is shining brightly this morning....I have a smile in my heart....despite any "unpleasant" things I have to deal with....
And we will be life-warriors....nothing is going to break us...no one is going to break us....we are strong....
we will go after our dreams with a passion....we will spread love and be a light in a dark and unhappy world...
and we will be a source of love and encouragement to others....

It's Playtime Saturday

Here is a video of my growing up girl..I can't believe she's a toddler...Last Saturday, we had no plans whatsoever. So, i thought going to chuck E Cheese to play around is a good idea. We haven't been there since summer i think. Going there was worth every moment. She had so much time, as do we.

Homemade Peanut Butter Cookies

I am on a baking kick lately. This is actually my first attempt to bake anything like cookies, cake or the like. I am a cook person but never been a baker ever. Since my daughter loves to eat, i figured cookies will be a healthy snack for her. And on top of that, it will be a good practice for me.

One day, i googled online on a cookie recipe that i can use a lot of peanut butter in it. I have several cans of peanut butter sitting in my pantry, so i figured i have to make something use out of it.

I found this recipe online (classic peanut butter cookies) and followed the instructions.

And to my surprise, here is the finished product. I actually shaped a few to look appealing to my daughter's taste. I would say, my first baking experience is definitely a success!

Little Copycat

I was trying to fix my hair, did an updo and put a scunci headband on. My little Denise kept following me and trying to get something outta me. I noticed she wanted my headband. I gave it to her and put it on her. So, i decided to put something else for myself...and we're even!!! Ahhh, she's my little me, always wanting what i have on and copying me..hehe!

Today January 5 we celebrate our 9th year anniversary for being together with my bestfriend, boyfriend, now my hubby. I cannot even believe we have been together that long. Time flies yet the love keeps burning.

My hubby and I started as really good friends. I really didn't think that we could be more than friends. As i shouted in my facebook account "Meeting you was fate, becoming your friend was a choice, but falling in love with you I had no control over."

It is so right. I am still and forever be in love with my hubby. He is my everything.

I can't track our photos from 2001-2004. There was no digicam back then, lol!
